Scott Bruzek is a business operations professional who currently serves as as the Vice President of Operations and Treasurer of Active Heroes, a national 501(c)(3) charitable organization with headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky.
Scott is a suburban Chicago, Illinois area native who began his career in the live event industry working in the non-profit and for profit sectors.
In his current role, Scott oversees day to day operations of a national charitable organization working tirelessly to end the epidemic of veteran suicide. In this role he oversees at $1.5+ million budget, 4 facilities located in Kentucky and Southern Indiana (including a 147 acre retreat center facility), and National Programs that reach all 50 states and even U.S. military service members stationed overseas. As the organization’s national reach requires significant investment in technological resources, he is responsible for the strategy and implementation of technology and administrative functions.
Scott previously served as a founding board member for Active Heroes for 3 years, priors to joining the executive team, and currently serves a director for the Active Heroes Legacy Foundation, whose mission is to ensure the long term legacy of the Active Heroes programs for decades to come.

Oversee all business operations for a national non-profit organization with $1.5M in annual revenue, 3 separate facility locations, and activities spanning all 50 states.
Responsible for the strategy and implementation of the organization’s centralization of data into a single combination CRM/ERP system.
Lead organizational growth from 5 full time employees to 15 employees, and nearly 200% revenue growth in a 12 month period.
Develop the organization’s first ever set of full Human Resources guidelines, including formal recruiting and on boarding processes, a comprehensive employee handbook, and employee evaluation and retention guidelines.

Manage the planning and execution of course operations for bi-monthly running events in the national Hot Chocolate 15/5k race series and Chicagoland RAM series.
Interface with vendors and governmental agencies to plan and execute race logistics, including event permitting across multiple jurisdictions.
Coordinate efforts with 200 plus event staff, volunteers, and group leaders for each race.
Oversee the execution of community outreach efforts to inform community members of road closures, noise disturbances, and other event impacts.
Draft medical and emergency plans in coordination with Race Director, Medical Director, and local Emergency Management agencies.
Manage the ordering and implementation of wide area communications equipment using the Motorola Connect Plus repeater system and other trunked radio systems.
